Combining strong regulatory expertise with a solid transactional track record, A&O Shearman advises on the sale and acquisition of energy projects and companies, as well as on energy project finance and energy treaty charter investment arbitrations. The group plays a key role in energy transition matters, covering green fuels, green and blue hydrogen, and associated carbon capture and storage projects. Vanessa Cuellas specialises in project finance, frequently acting on international and regional energy and infrastructure matters. Ignacio Hornedo handles a broad range of private capital transactions, with a focus on the energy and infrastructure segments, while Iñigo del Val advises domestic and international clients on public and private M&A. Antonio Vázquez-Guillén leads on contentious matters, while Charles Poole-Warren acts for financial institutions, corporates, and funds in energy and infrastructure financing deals. Nuria Ferré focuses on financing transactions. The team was further strengthened by David Diez, who joined from Watson Farley & Williams LLP in September 2025, and Mario García, who was previously at Linklaters.
