Milbank has an outstanding record in project finance across Southeast Asia and South Asia. For many years, Indonesia has been its primary market, with the wider Singapore office having extensive connections to the jurisdiction. It is now increasingly active in Malaysia, along with the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Laos and Vietnam. The firm represents a range of sponsors and lenders, including regional and international banks, ECAs and MLAs. The Singapore team has become a dominant force in data centre and digital infrastructure projects, along with oil and gas, LNG, conventional power generation, renewables, and mining and minerals; it is now making further progress in onshore wind in the Mekong region and renewables platforms in Indonesia. James Murray remains a major figure in power generation and renewables in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia. James Orme has emerged as a prominent name in infrastructure, power and natural resources, with a particularly strong record in digital infrastructure and data centres.
