It has worked on a series of headline projects, including subsea cables, data centres, sustainability-linked project financings and oil and gas asset acquisitions. With a number of fluent mandarin speakers, the Singapore team has built close connections to Chinese state-owned enterprises in the power and infrastructure sectors. It has an established record in India, Indonesia and throughout Southeast Asia and the broader Asia Pacific region. Jonathan Guwe is co-head of the project finance, energy and infrastructure practices with a particularly strong record in Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam projects. Advised GlobalFoundries on its long-term procurement of electricity for its Singapore operations.
Acted as borrower’s lead counsel in relation to a $425m ECB project financing with a consortium of three international banks and three Indian lenders to finance a 530MW round-the-clock hybrid wind and solar project in Rajasthan and Maharashtra, India.
