
Rajah & Tann Asia has a large and dedicated projects and energy team that has developed a sizeable presence in energy transition and renewable energy (solar, wind and hydropower) matters. The team has made a further impression in LNG, carbon capture, battery energy storage and electric vehicle (EV) battery production projects. It has also worked on a series of hydrogen-related projects, including the development of liquefied hydrogen storage tanks. It has extensive front-end project development expertise, alongside project finance experience and a solid presence in energy M&A; team members are also well-versed in contentious issues. Singapore is its primary market, followed by Malaysia and Indonesia. The team regularly represents Chinese state-owned enterprises, with Loh Yong Hui located between Singapore and the firm’s representative office in Shenzen, China. Sim Chee Siong heads the construction and projects team, with a background in front-end and dispute resolution across infrastructure projects, energy and resources. Qualified in both Singapore and Malaysia, Shemane Chan and fellow partner Soh Lip San are also senior members of the team. Kimberly Tho was promoted to partner in 2025.
