The practice at Garrigues ‘stands out for its experience and high level of specialisation in antitrust matters’, the group also offers a broad practice covering competition, merger control, unfair competition, bureaucratic barriers and consumer protection matters. The department has a well-rounded team that advises and represents clients across various sectors including the energy, gas, transport, media and real estate industries. The practice has experience in judicial proceedings, development of antitrust compliance programmes and administrative complaints and investigations of instances of unfair competition before INDECOPI. Drawing from his expertise at INDECOPI, the practice group is co-led by experienced partner Ivo Gagliuffi, who specialises in merger control, antitrust, elimination of bureaucratic barriers and unfair competition. Practice co-head Javier Coronado focuses on the economics of antitrust and merger matters, as well as economic regulations. At the associate level: David Fernández has expertise in competition law; Maria Isabel Alvarado specialises in merger control, elimination of bureaucratic barriers and consumer protection; Ricardo Ayvar handles legal economic reports and advises clients on competition law; and Rodrigo García is an economic assistant in the competition department at Garrigues.
