As of July 2025 Estudio Echecopar is an independent firm, the team has extensive expertise in the bankruptcy and restructuring area. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the team is experienced in handling insolvency proceedings, private restructuring, distress acquisitions, counselling on insolvency proceedings before INDECOPI and regularly advising corporations in various sectors in the mining, energy, real estate, construction and agricultural industries among others. The practice is led by Pablo Berckholtz, who specialises in complex debt, capital markets and corporate finance negotiations, advising major banks on financing and restructurings as well as significant experience with IPOs, high-yield debt and project bonds. At the associate level, Katherine Zapata provides experience in liquidations, insolvency proceedings, M&A, and corporate reorganisations, and Luciana Palomino specialises in restructuring, insolvency, corporate M&A and corporate finance reorganisations. The prior practice head Rafael Picasso has retired as of 2024.
