Ferrere’s intellectual property and regulatory affairs department is recognised for its outstanding expertise in advising both local and international clients on a wide array of IP and regulatory matters. The team handles trade mark, patent, design and domain name registry, as well as opposition work, litigation and IP rights transfers. It drafts licensing and franchise agreements, offers strategic IP planning and assists with M&A transactions and due diligence. Led by Néstor Loizaga and Montserrat Puente, the department excels in sectors such as telecoms, pharma, agribusiness, and tech, with a deep understanding of complex regulatory frameworks. Loizaga specialises in high-stakes dispute resolution and complex IP matters, while Puente is known for managing prestigious trade mark portfolios. Associates Cynthia Sanabria and Larisa Cabanellas also play vital roles; Sanabria is an expert in IP portfolios, patent and trade mark prosecution, and administrative defence, while Cabanellas advises on IP, copyright, and trade mark registration.
