The practice group at the former Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa, now know simply as Chevez, advises on carve-outs, separations and spin-offs, as well as M&A transactions, buy- and sell-side due diligence, share and asset purchase agreements, joint ventures, and investment and shareholders’ agreements. The team operates from offices in Mexico City, Querétaro and Monterrey, and collaborates closely with its counterparts in Madrid and Houston. Following the January 2026 departure of practice head Miguel Valle, the group is directed by Humberto Pérez Rocha, who specialises in corporate transactions, financings and regulatory matters involving banks, pension funds and insurance companies. Also noted are Jimena González de Cossío, who assists sellers, buyers and private equity funds with M&A transactions and joint ventures, as well as handling corporate governance and structured financings; Ana Sofía Ríos, who focuses on corporate law, banking and finance, private equity and wealth management; and Fernando González, who deals with corporate law and compliance mandates. Monterrey-based Santiago Carrera, who was promoted to the partnership in January 2026, has particular strength in corporate law, capital markets and real estate transactions.  Since the conclusion of research, the practice group has been further strengthened with the October-2026 hire of Diego Martínez Rueda-Chapital, a member of the Board of Directors of Grupo Financiero Banorte (among other positions) who focuses on M&A, banking and finance, and corporate governance.
