Acting on its own as well as alongside regulatory and corporate teams at the firm, the ‘collaborative and responsive’ practice at A&O Shearman has a market-leading reputation advising financial services clients across a range of contentious and non-contentious matters. The scope of this work is broad, running the gamut from banking and asset management restructuring and consolidation, through to redundancy exercises and advice on remuneration policies and procedures. Team head Gilles Dall’Agnol takes the lead on much of this work, including on remuneration policy, regularly working alongside practitioners from other global offices on cross-border mandates. Further key practitioners include the ’outstanding’ Nathaël Malanda, for both contentious and non-contentious work; Maurice Macchi, who regularly undertakes sensitive internal investigations and litigation for banks; Christophe Ernzen, an expert in collective law procedures and on corporate support matters; and the vastly experienced André Marc, who still handles some work in the private banking sector in his role as of counsel.
