Since its establishment in January 2024 following Lisa Stevens‘ move from Freshfields, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has successfully gained market share for a creditor-focused client base on some significant cross-border situations. Stevens, who heads the team, is ’knowledgeable on UK but also on wider European restructuring matters’, often working closely with the firm’s strong Paris restructuring team. In addition, the team is regularly engaged in transatlantic mandates, often working with the New York office, and excels on advising on liability management exercises and out-of-court restructurings for creditors on mandates involving UK and US-governed finance documents. The arrival of highly experienced practitioners Chris Howard and Presley Warner from Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in March 2025 further enhances the team.
