Under the joint leadership of Purvis Ghani and Sarah Beeby, the employment team at Dentons is sought out for its work in high-value Employment Tribunal claims and the employment aspects of acquisitions. Ghani handles a mix of global restructurings, sensitive investigations, and discrimination and whistleblowing claims. Benefitting from the firm’s global platform, the group is a key reference in the market for cross-border employment work and acts for employers in the financial services, aviation, and technology sectors. Rhodri Thomas left the team in July 2024, and Esther Langdon left in February 2025.

  • ‘The practice stands out for its deep sector expertise, collaborative culture, and client-centric approach. What makes them unique is not just what they do, but how they do it—with integrity, innovation, and a relentless focus on delivering value.’

  • ‘Purvis Ghani and Jane Bowen are excellent employment lawyers.’

  • ‘Purvis Ghani is the most responsive lawyer we work with. He understands us as a client, our needs and our risk tolerance. ’

  • ‘The Dentons employment practice has been a lifesaver. We opened a UK office several years ago and, thanks to Dentons, we are now comfortable that we have a state-of-the-art employee handbook as well as a detailed understanding of the entire UK employment process, from hiring to employment contracts to separation from service. We never would have been able to achieve this without Dentons' invaluable assistance. I would highly recommend this group to any US company that is looking to expand into the UK/EU.’

  • ‘Emily Russell is a tremendous asset to our company. She is remarkably responsive (despite the time zone issues caused by assignments coming from the US) and is very flexible about weaving our business objectives into their advice. Emily has helped us navigate several complex issues to favorable resolutions and has never once dropped a ball. ’
