Colin Manning – 4-5 Gray's Inn Square  A Fellow of the Civil Mediation Council, 4-5 Gray's Inn Square's Colin Manning is ‘a pleasure to work with. He forms a good relationship with all parties and has a great deal of experience in many fields of law, enabling him to understand the underlying dispute and to put opposing arguments to both parties’. Co-heading the set’s mediation team, Manning handles contract, tort, professional negligence, partnership, company and shareholder disputes. An accredited CEDR mediator since 1997, he  also conducts mediations concerning construction, property, trusts, probate and international trade.  Manning’s track record includes several hundred mediations, including multi-party disputes and large-value claims.

Position

Colin has been a barrister for over 40 years and has wide experience in litigating commercial and business law disputes involving contract, international trade, share purchase/sale, partnership, professional and clinical negligence, entertainment and media (in particular film, music and video rights), building and construction, computer (technical and copyright), landlord and tenant and employment. His practice has led him to travel to Paris, Geneva, Chicago Gibraltar and Sierra Leone.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and served as a Recorder for 16 years.In addition, he has chaired Primary Care Trust Tribunal inquiries into the fitness of doctors and dentists to remain on NHS Performers’ Lists. He has also taken evidence on commission for use in foreign proceedings.
