Kevin Prosser KC, David Ewart KC, David Yates KC and the ‘technically proficient’ Sadiya Choudhury KC all featured in BlackRock Holdco 5 LLC v HMRC - a Court of Appeal case concerning the taxation of BlackRock's takeover of Barclays Global Investors -  with Prosser also appearing before the Supreme Court in Royal Bank of Canada v HMRC, concerning the taxation of income earned from the sale of oil in the UK continental shelf. Thomas Chacko has appeared before the Court of Appeal in HFFX LLP v HMRC. Zizhen Yang acted as sole counsel in Prudential Assurance Company Ltd v HMRC, representing The Prudential Assurance Company Ltd from the First Tier Tribunal up to the Court of Appeal, and soon the Supreme Court.
