Sorainen hosts a strong EU and competition team that operates jointly with the general regulatory department. It covers all aspects of the practice area, with a particular focus on merger control and antitrust investigations. Notably, the firm represented a major pan-Baltic supermarket chain in two competition law investigations, achieving a successful verdict and enabling its sale to a Danish retail group to come into effect. The firm is also active in the defence, digital commerce and energy sectors. The team is led by three capable lawyers – Daivis Švirinas, Miglė Mainionytė and Monika Mališauskaite-Vaupšiene – who are praised by clients for ‘providing strategic direction’ and anticipating regulators’ next moves.
