Dentons has a growing presence in Miami, including in relation to Latin America-related transactions. Jackson Hwu, a Brazil native, has become a pivotal figure in the firm’s Latin America business, a key liaison between the firm’s US and international offices and the region itself. Much of his practice still relates to Brazil, including inbound and outbound matters, notably in the fintech and blockchain industry, along with health tech transactions. Argentina is an increasingly importance jurisdiction for Hwu and his team, along with Colombia. He also frequently advises Latin America-based high net-worth individuals and family offices on setting up investment structures in the US, along with subsequent investments and pre-immigration issues.
