Based in Vientiane, DFDL Legal & Tax’s practice is turned to for its breadth of expertise, and includes clients from the energy, financial, labour, telecommunications and mining industries. The team fields experience in a spectrum of mandates, which includes regulatory and compliance matters; domestic and international M&A; corporate and commercial matters for international companies; and financial transactions, financing and structured finance products, as well as advising clients on various infrastructure, real estate and energy matters. Kooi Thong Lai heads the team, and leverages its experience in a variety of corporate and commercial matters, advising both private and public companies in transactional, financial and regulatory matters, especially in the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors. Standré Bezuidenhout and Senesakoune Sihanouvong advise on M&A and taxation matters respectively, while Audray Souche is a port of call for project finance. Kristy Newby focuses on M&A and foreign investment, with particular experience in the energy and mining sectors.
