Outside the team’s particular expertise in aviation and maritime insurance, the group is also highly capable in personal injury, product liability, D&O and professional indemnity claims. On the regulatory side, it advises on distribution structuring, Central Bank investigations, M&A and portfolio transfers, as well as solvency II and corporate governance work. Instructed by a number of Lloyds and international insurers who were the “all risks” insurers of aircraft leasing firm CDB Aviation in the defence of proceedings in which CDB Aviation alleged that a number of aircraft had been detained in Russia and lost for the purposes of their insurance cover following the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent imposition of sanctions against Russia.
