The tax practice at Gufa Law is primarily geared towards advising international companies with operations in Honduras, frequently assisting with the tax aspects of M&A, including cross-border transactions, as well as customs issues and exemptions under Honduras' special tax regimes. Its diverse client base spans the mining, energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, transport, health, logistics and technology sectors. The department is led by senior associate Julia Sandoval, who has a strong all-round practice with notable expertise in the tax structuring of corporate transactions and reorganisations. Managing partner Mauricio Villeda Jr is also a key figure in the team.
