Geradin Partners

The Helsinki office of specialist competition firm Geradin Partners was launched in October 2024, and is geared to support clients across all aspects of merger control, EU state aid, and digital regulations, among other matters. The team utilises its European network to handle complex cross-border mandates. Practice co-head Mikko Alkio handles complex abuse of dominance issues and merger control matters across the healthcare, technology, energy, telecommunications, and gaming sectors. Co-head Christian Wik advises clients on large cartel investigations and procedures across the Nordic countries and in Brussels, while fellow co-head Ilkka Aalto-Setälä, who joined the team from Borenius in November 2025, assists companies and governmental agencies with antitrust and internal market law issues. The team further expanded with the addition of Sanna Syrjälä from the FCCA in January 2026.
