Work highlights
Represented OP Group, Finland's largest financial services group, securing victory in a landmark data protection case that substantially impacted the interpretation of GDPR rights and log files – both in the financial sector and more broadly – and being the first data protection (GDPR) dispute that resulted in the Finnish preliminary ruling request to the CJEU on the GDPR.
Representing S-Bank in multi-agency regulatory investigations and demanding appeal proceedings against a decision by the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority, in a matter where the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority imposed a fine and public warning on S-Bank, whilst the Finnish Data Protection Authority continues its ongoing investigations.
Representing Caruna, Finland's largest electricity distribution system operator, in Market Court proceedings appealing against the Energy Authority's decision concerning the monitoring of pricing of network operators. The case is very significant to Caruna and other appealing distribution system operators as the new regulatory methods threaten the operators' ability to make new, legally required investments and therefore endanger clean transition and the fulfilment of Finland's climate targets.
