The finance and financial regulation team at Bird & Bird advises a wide range of clients, including local and multinational banks, and Finnish and international private equity firms, on several financial regulatory matters, with a main focus on payment issues. In addition to payment-related regulation, the practice group also assists clients with anti-money laundry regulations, sanctions issues, and banking regulation mandates. Jori Taipale co-heads the team and has over 25 years of experience in financing and related insolvency and M&A transactions. Other key individual and fellow team co-head Kristiina Lehvilä leverages her background as an in-house banking lawyer to advise clients on a range of financing transactions and financial regulatory matters.
