Economic growth fuelled by manufacturing, retail, health services and real estate led Flor Bustamante Pizarro Hurtado Abogados (FBPH) to open a Cuenca office in May 2024, hiring a 10-strong team - including two partners -from Heka Law Firm. The office acts for a broad client roster including manufacturers, tech companies, retailers and family-owned business across a a range of legal services including M&A, competition, compliance, corporate governance and both dispute resolution and regulatory issues. Partners Juan Andrés Gortaire and María Cristina Serrano - who handle corporate and competition law, and constitutional and administrative matters, respectively, co-direct the office. Key support is provided by associate Isabel Abad, who advises on corporate, competition, and intellectual property law. Litigation specialist associate Nicolás Mancheno left the firm in July 2025.
