The ‘very committed and knowledgeable’ team at Brigard Urrutia is equipped to advise on the full life cycle of environmental law issues, from permitting and environmental audits, through to litigation and due diligence work. Incoming practice director for environmental and sustainable business, Margarita Solorza, joined the practice from Holland & Knight in June 2024 and brings to bear additional in-house experience from prior roles at Talisman Energy and Geotec Engineering. At partner level, the department is additionally overseen by corporate and M&A co-head Jaime Robledo and energy and projects specialist Carlos Umaña. The group also includes senior associate Juana Valentina Micán, who is a former lawyer for the District Secretary of the Environment; she advises on regulation, environmental litigation and project structuring. Senior associate Juan Sebastian Panesso left the firm in June 2025.

‘We haven't looked at other firms precisely because of the quality of the firm's human and professional approach in the services we requested.
