Brigard Urrutia’s team ‘always seeks to answer questions and best represent the client’s interests’, according to some. The overarching dispute resolution practice combines standalone offerings in arbitration, litigation, and bankruptcy and insolvency, while it further demonstrates experience across the full range of contentious administrative and commercial law cases. Next-generation partner María Munevar Torrado leads the department and is recommended for her representation of domestic and multinational clients before courts and arbitral tribunals; she is particularly noted for her activity in the infrastructure, energy and telecoms areas. The group additionally draws on a pair of practice directors: Paola Guerrero Yemail, who spearheads the insolvency and bankruptcy litigation unit; and Carlos Mauricio Cerrato, who demonstrates ’excellent command of the issues’ and supports on judicial, extrajudicial and administrative proceedings. At senior associate level, Paula Juliana Téllez provides key support, particulrly as regards disputes involving the infrastructure, energy and mining sectors, among others. Former partner Felipe Mutis departed in September 2024, former department head Irma Rivera Ramírez  left to go freelance in April 2025, and former senior associate Camilo Valenzuela left the firm in August 2025.
