The international-facing competition and antitrust practice at Baker McKenzie S.A.S. forms a key part of the firm’s global offering, with the team recognised as a market leader in advising domestic and multinational clients on the co-ordination of multi-jurisdictional merger filings across Latin America. Alongside its transactional support expertise, the group routinely represents major corporations and financial services entities in local cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, regulatory compliance matters and administrative litigation. Department head Carolina Pardo is widely revered as a go-to expert in merger control, administrative investigations, regulatory compliance, bid rigging and consumer law; she continues to represent Mastercard in an investigation by the competition regulator, the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce (SIC), into allegedly anti-competitive conduct in the card payments market. The team also draws on next-generation partner Angélica Navarro, who is a former adviser to the office of the SIC and leverages hands-on regulatory experience. The group further benefits from the support of a talented duo of associates: senior Carlos Arboleda, whose work spans merger control, investigations, dawn raids, competition compliance and data protection; and intermediate Daniel Fajardo, who sits in the competition, consumer protection and personal data protection teams. In December 2025, senior associate Julieth Sanclemente departed the firm.
