During 2025/26, Garrigues’ competition team remained active advising on a broad range of antitrust investigations, enforcement proceedings, merger control matters, unfair competition litigation and regulatory compliance. The department is led jointly by principal associates David Toro, whose broad administrative law expertise spans competition, consumer protection, economic regulation and telecoms, among other areas; and Anamaría Rico, who specialises in merger control, antitrust investigations, unfair competition and consumer law. The group also includes senior associate Adolfo Enrique Gómez, who splits his practice between competition, dispute resolution, intellectual property and corporate law. In March 2026, former department head José Miguel de la Calle left to practise independently.
