The result of a September 2019 merger between longstanding domestic practice Estudio Jurídico Otero and Madrid-headquartered multinational firm ECIJA, ECIJA Otero's wide-ranging expertise covers telecoms, IT, IP, media and entertainment production. The team’s recent mandates also include the tax aspects of digital services, as well as public bidding in relation to cloud computing services. The department additionally covers IT bidding processes, contract drafting, IP rights-related data protection management, and the negotiation and drafting of co-production agreements. The team’s key figures are new technology, TMT and IT specialist, Gerardo Otero; Dolores Echeverría, whose broad practice encompasses telecoms and IT matters; and Spain-qualified finance specialist Alfredo Moreno. Beyond the partnership, the experience of manager Javier Sabido includes advising television and film production companies.
