The five-member tax team in Dentons’ Santiago office is particularly experienced in structuring cross-border transactions, corporate reorganisations and succession planning. The practice also assists with tax audits and litigation; and it is increasingly mandated by family offices, private wealth clients, and cross-border business groups from the energy, construction, real estate, retail and manufacturing sectors. Department head Juan Pablo Orellana focuses on M&A, personal and corporate tax planning, and domestic and international tax advice, as well as corporate structures, wealth succession, and personal and business estates; Karen Kulka’s workload includes day-to-day advice, tax planning, transaction structuring, internal reorganisations and corporate restructurings; and Francisco Hurtado has significant experience in tax litigation before Chile’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS), tax courts, Supreme Court and Constitutional Court.
