

Carey's wide-ranging real estate practice has significant experience in the development, financing, construction and sale of real estate projects, such as residential (including multifamily), commercial, industrial and data centre developments. The full-service team’s sector specialisms also cover energy, hotels, casinos, agro-housing, conservation, office buildings, and shopping and educational centres. It additionally assists with the acquisition, sale, leasing and securitisation of property portfolios, as well as joint ventures, zoning, land use regulations, construction law, and real estate asset management and M&A. Clients further benefit from the real estate group’s ability to leverage the expertise of the firm’s environmental, tax, project finance, water rights and labour law practices. The 11-strong department is led by Juan Pablo Stitchkin, who also co-heads the firm’s construction and engineering group; while counsel and current Latin American Forum liaison officer for the IBA Real Estate Committee, Eduardo Martin, advises on real estate matters alongside his project finance, corporate law, litigation and telecoms practices. Also at counsel level, Tomás Varela advises on land use, building permits, title reviews, sale-purchase agreements and leases, and is ‘always available to resolve any real estate issue’. Former senior associate Javiera Avilés moved in house in August 2025.
