The nine-strong practice at Dentons projects and infrastructure practice is divided into two groups: one managing construction contracts, claims and disputes; the other advising construction companies on corporate matters. With a client base including domestic and international companies from various industrial sectors, the team provide legal counsel on various projects including wind farms, toll roads, ports, desalination plants and power infrastructure. Other work matters include bidding, contracts, financing, and dispute resolution. The team includes partners José Manuel Larraín, who frequently advises on infrastructure projects across different sectors, including PPP and BOT projects; and Ignacio Vargas, who focuses on public and private infrastructure, dispute resolution, and construction law, and advises both the Chilean government and private companies.

  • 'Ignacio Vargas is undoubtedly one of the greatest talents of his generation. He combines experience—from his past as a lawyer for the Ministry of Public Works to his subsequent career in project support, negotiation, and litigation—with a profound capacity for study and innovation, allowing him to design high-impact strategies for the cases he leads. He also stands out for his involvement and attention to detail, being able to detect previously unnoticed subtleties or interpretations, which can generate a decisive advantage in litigation.'
  • 'I would highlight their knowledge, commitment, and degree of involvement in problems, actively and innovatively participating in the search for solutions focused on the company's business and interests. A factor that sets this firm apart from others is the active participation of the partner in the case, participating throughout the entire process without delegating its processing to the associates.'
  • 'For his knowledge of projects and infrastructure, his experience in the field, and his strong commitment and performance in handling the cases the company is involved in, I would single out partner Ignacio Vargas.'
