Acting for developers, sponsors, constructors, operators, suppliers and financiers, Barros & Errázuriz’s sizeable projects practice is widely respected for its advice on the development and financing of large infrastructure and energy projects in Chile. On the development side, the team assists with tendering processes and public and private works concessions in relation to highways, prisons, seaports and land terminals, as well as airports, parking areas and logistics centres. As regards energy, the group is highly active in renewable and conventional generation projects, such as hydro, wind and solar. It also advises on the acquisition of liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal projects and gas utility services. Additionally of note, the department acts for sponsors on mining companies’ major desalination projects, including development, permitting and financing issues. The experience of infrastructure, financing and arbitration specialist Nicolás Balmaceda covers energy projects, electromobility mandates, public works concessions, engineering, construction and foreign investment; while Francisco De la Barra acts for sponsors, financial institutions, equity investors, export credit agencies, constructors and development banks on project development and financing.
