Grupo Evans’ large energy and green hydrogen practice routinely advises on large-scale power generation infrastructure projects, energy transmission lines, battery energy storage systems (BESS), water desalination plants, aqueducts, and ports. The practice’s recent mandates also include new industries, such as hydrogen, green ammonia and green methanol plants, as well as data centres. The team’s key figures are Eugenio Evans, an adviser on high-stakes projects, regulatory matters, and litigation before Chile’s regulators; José Miguel Hernández, who specialises in generation and transmission-related work, as well as renewables, communities, and indigenous law; and renewables expert Cristóbal Illanes. The next line of experienced practitioners includes Rafael Fernández, who covers energy and natural resources-related regulatory aspects; and senior associate Gustavo Benítez, who is experienced in land and regulatory matters. In 2025, Elías Soto was promoted to director of the litigation and arbitration department (which he heads).
