The multidisciplinary team at Vergara, Fernández, Costa & Claro comprises experts in insurance claim management, insurance litigation, and advising policyholders. The six-member group routinely assists with negotiations between insureds, insurers, adjusters and other technical parties. It also acts for assureds in both large claims and ongoing insurance programme issues. Another key area is defending policy holders before Chile’s ordinary and arbitral courts. The practice is co-led by highly-rated insurance specialist and current vice-president of the Insurance Arbitration Center of Arias Latam, Gloria Claro, whose track record includes being appointed arbitrator by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); and Sergio Fernández, a former general counsel of CorpBanca’s insurance subsidiaries, CorpVida and CorpSeguros. At senior associate/director level, Catherine Campbell has extensive experience in advising insureds; Andrés Schlack has notable litigation expertise; and Valentina Battaglia‘s career includes working at a life insurance company.
