The seven-strong team at Urenda, Rencoret, Orrego y Dörr's environmental practice provides legal counsel on a broad spectrum of environmental matters, advising companies in key industries such as complex environmental due diligence mining, energy, manufacturing, and food and consumer goods. The group supports clients from project inception through permitting, compliance and litigation, ensuring regulatory adherence and risk mitigation. The team also handles complex environmental due diligence and represents clients in administrative and judicial proceedings, including before environmental courts and the Chilean Supreme Court. The practice maintains strong relationships with regulators and actively contributes to policy discussions, including biodiversity standards and emissions regulations. Practice head Ignacio Urrutia brings valuable experience from his tenure at Chile’s environmental agencies, and primarily advises on regulatory and project-related matters. Co-head of the practice Sergio Orrego has over 35 years' experience in mining transactions and project development. Associate Luciano Venegas plays a key role in regulatory matters and environmental assessments.
