The team also handles complex environmental due diligence and represents clients in administrative and judicial proceedings, including before environmental courts and the Chilean Supreme Court. The practice maintains strong relationships with regulators and actively contributes to policy discussions, including biodiversity standards and emissions regulations. Practice head Ignacio Urrutia brings valuable experience from his tenure at Chile’s environmental agencies, and primarily advises on regulatory and project-related matters. Co-head of the practice Sergio Orrego has over 35 years' experience in mining transactions and project development.
