Contreras Velozo

Representing international public entities, multinational corporations and Latin American governments, Contreras Velozo' six-strong practice acts in a range of civil and commercial litigation mandates, including contract disputes, civil liability litigation and bankruptcy proceedings. It also assists with administrative law conflicts, litigation involving fundamental rights and criminal proceedings. The firm’s civil litigation and commercial arbitration practice is led by Óscar Contreras Blanco, whose caseload covers breach of contracts, torts, shareholder disputes, unfair competition, and constitutional and administrative issues; the experience of public law department head Óscar Contreras Pomés includes both administrative litigation and commercial arbitration; and associate Luis Silva focuses on labour, social security and immigration matters, as well as regulatory and insurance law. Former partner Alvaro Awad departed the firm in November 2024 to establish his own practice.
