The eight-member arbitration group at Larrain y Asociados Abogados has significant experience in concession-related arbitrations against the state; while the practice’s client base ranges from mining, infrastructure and real estate development companies, to concessionaires that are part of multinational groups. The team is co-led by Carlos Aravena, who defends mining and construction companies, as well as concessionaires, in arbitration cases, and is ‘arguably the best lawyer around for litigation involving public infrastructure concessionaires’; and the firm’s first female partner, Isabel Palacios, who specialises in construction, concessions and public works-related arbitrations. Focused on litigation and arbitration, Catalina Cortez and Esteban Rebagliati are key associates.
