Dentons‘ 19-strong corporate and M&A team has ’the ability to combine technical expertise with a highly practical approach’. Particularly focused on inbound investment and multi-jurisdictional mandates, the practice routinely acts for multinational companies, financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and Chilean groups on high-stakes acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, reorganisations and strategic investments. It also covers transaction-related corporate and governance work. Luis Izquierdo advises on M&A and corporate transactions that feature significant financial issues; Felipe Rencoret Prieto is an expert in corporate restructurings, acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers; Santiago office managing partner José Manuel Larraín leads the public and private infrastructure projects group; Carlos Urzúa predominantly focuses on corporate and M&A matters, as well as restructuring and insolvency-related reorganisations; and Karen Kulka advises on M&A, contracts, and corporate law (alongside her tax practice). Daniel Cristi (raised to partner in September 2025), and senior associates Gabriel Strappa, Florencia Ahumada and Jorge Lazo, complete the team. Former practice co-head Karlfranz Koehler moved into the public sector in March 2026, and senior associate Ana Azócar left the firm in September 2025.

Testimonials

  • The Dentons team has the ability to combine technical expertise with a highly practical approach. They don't just gather information; they interpret the findings based on their real impact on the business and the transaction, which is key to making investment decisions with often incomplete information. They act proactively and independently, delivering fast and detailed results, demonstrating a strong commitment to helping clients.
  • I had the opportunity to work directly with José Luis Izquierdo on an M&A transaction, and with Santiago Ried on obtaining authorization from the National Economic Prosecutor's Office for that same transaction. In both cases, I would like to highlight their rapid response to requests and their technical expertise in their respective fields. I would also like to emphasize their understanding of their client's business.
  • They are highly responsive to requests. Furthermore, they possess technical expertise in the relevant areas and are flexible in adapting legal strategies to meet business needs.
