With significant experience in bankruptcy and insolvency processes, Prieto Abogados' six-member group represents creditors from the banking, insurance, retail, energy and technology sectors in liquidations and reorganisation procedures (as well as related litigation). ‘Uniquely positioned in the Chilean market for its comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach’, the team also acts for creditors before creditor committees (further to the approval of reorganisations), as well as on the restructuring and refinancing of financially-distressed companies’ credit. The practice is additionally increasingly mandated to assist debtor companies with voluntary liquidation bankruptcy proceedings. It recently advised Banco Internacional on the second reorganisation of Enjoy, a Chile-based leisure and tourism sector company. The insolvency and restructuring department is co-led by Benjamín Grebe, a specialist in insolvency judicial procedures, restructuring and debt negotiations, whose ’leadership and insight define the strength of the firm’s’ insolvency practice’; and insolvency proceeding expert Alberto González V, who also co-leads the litigation department. The practice further includes senior associate and civil litigator Vicente Tapia, who focuses on companies’ and individuals’ reorganisation and insolvency proceedings; and counsel Isabel Monge, whose track record includes co-leading major financing and restructuring mandates.
