Legal powerhouse Carey houses a 21-strong team that has extensive experience in advising creditors, investors and borrowers on a wide range of high-end banking and finance transactions. Typical work for the group ranges from bilateral or syndicated loans (secured and unsecured), project finance, structured product deals and derivatives, to liability management, securitisation, and public and private offerings and placements of capital and debt. The practice group also assists several commercial banks, development finance institutions and multilateral institutions with day-to-day issues. it’s recent mandates include acting for BNP Paribas and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (as lenders) on a financing for up to $289m, for the construction, development and maintenance of a battery energy storage system project. The practice is co-led by Diego Peralta, who assists both lenders and borrowers with structuring financial products and financings; Francisco Ugarte, whose wide-ranging practice includes cross-border banking and corporate finance deals; Salvador Valdés, a go-to adviser for several investment banks and asset managers; Francisco Ugarte, who acts for corporations and financial institutions on regulatory and financial matters; Felipe Moro, an expert in lending transactions, project financing, structured products, and derivatives; banking, lending and project finance specialist Fernando Noriega; and highly-regarded finance and development practitioner Alejandra Daroch.
