Goodmans LLP‘s real estate practice is based in Toronto and focuses on complex real estate transactions. The team leverages its expertise across real estate, construction, financing, leasing, REITs, tax and insolvency to fully assist clients on all aspects on transactions. The group excels in advising clients on financing and refinancing of real estate assets including mortgage transactions, bond financings, project financings and other issues. The firm also has a separate municipal and land development practice which has been key to advising on developing landmarks in Toronto. The team is jointly led by Ira Barkin and Tyler D’Angelo, Barkin is the go-to for real estate joint ventures, mixed-use land development and other real estate transactions, while D’Angelo leads on both domestic and cross-border transactions including financings and purchases and sales. Ken Herlin is noted for his work on commercial real estate leasing and is well-versed in a number of real estate assets including office, retail and industrial. Jeffrey Shore brings expertise to both commercial real estate matters and complex financing transactions.  Bram Green advises REITs, foreign investors, pension funds and pension fund advisors on acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and mixed-use developments. Lastly, Andrew Wiseman focuses on construction contract financings, leasing, student housing and property development law.
