Cescon Barrieu’s multidisciplinary practice delivers ‘tailored’ advice to clients in the conventional and renewable segments of the power sector. Its ’proactive and results-oriented’ team possesses considerable expertise in energy-related transactional matters, including M&A, power purchase agreements, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring. It is also active in project financing, development and structuring, with a focus on self-production initiatives. The practice is co-led by Ana Carolina Katlauskas Calil, who joined the São Paulo office from TozziniFreire in August 2024, bringing extensive regulatory experience, and Rio-based Maurício Teixeira dos Santos, who regularly advises on financings, M&A, and tender offers in the power sector. Eduardo Lanna is another key figure in the practice, noted for his experience in M&A and project implementation. Former co-head Alexandre Leite left the firm in July 2024.
