Brons & Salas has built a reputation for representing energy companies in international arbitrations and judicial collection actions brought by other companies, state regulators, and consumer associations. These claims concern a range of issues, such as improper terminations of power purchase agreements, non-payment for power services, and the collection of penalties. Aside from its contentious work, the team also advises on the development and operation of energy projects (both hybrid and renewables), including real estate, contractual, and local and federal regulatory advice. The department is co-chaired by Sebastián Álvarez, who is immersed in the Argentine electricity market and regulatory framework, and litigation and arbitration specialist Joaquín Vallebella, who also assists with public bids and renegotiations of concession contracts. Associate Matias Foiguel advises on administrative and regulatory matters.
