In January, I presented the Monterey Insight 2019 Fund report to
London private equity managers. The sentiment from the funds sector
is that there is a shared sense of 'drift away from London'
which is having an impact on people, expertise and ability to exit
investments.
Over the last few weeks, I have presented the Guernsey Global
Distribution Report to London fund lawyers, marketing
Guernsey's strong distribution capability for funds through
existing agreements and equivalences across non-EU jurisdictions.
The feedback was that they expect to see a rise in private credit
funds in 2020, and expect to see more private equity fund managers
raising mega funds this year.
