    USDA Deregulates American Chestnut Genetically Engineered For Enhanced Blight Tolerance

    The USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has determined that genetically engineered American Chestnut trees, developed for enhanced tolerance to chestnut blight fungus, no longer require regulatory oversight.
