An in-building telecommunications system is a telecommunications system installed inside a building or buildings within the same property development for the conveyance of telecommunications and broadcasting signals to the residents or occupants of the building or buildings.

The scenario is straightforward if probably unusual. A solicitor acts for the purchaser of a house in the usual way. Contracts are exchanged.

In a recent case, Re Asean Interests Limited [2004] HKEC 184 (decision 19 December 2003), the Court of First Instance has confirmed that, where corporations wish to be members of a committee of inspection in a liquidation, they should be members in their own right rather than having natural persons appointed to represent them.
