Is there a law to protect whistleblowers? If so, which law?

In March 2024, the United States Department of Justice ("DOJ") released details of its comprehensive whistleblower reward program intended to encourage third parties to report corporate and financial bribery and misconduct.

Whistleblowing plays a critical role in exposing misconduct, unethical and illegal behavior and corporate vulnerabilities that may give rise to misconduct.

The United States passed the law in 1977. Its objective is for the US to be able to prosecute companies and individuals subject to US law for engaging in corrupt practices such as bribery when doing business abroad.
