The Libyan Trademark Office has announced the reinstatement of
the requirement for local attestation of legalised documents by the
Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation.
As a result, powers of attorney and other official documentation
submitted to the Office in support of trademark-related matters
must be legalised up to the Libyan Consulate abroad and
subsequently undergo local attestation in Libya.
Applicants should therefore factor in this additional step when
preparing documentation for filings and other trademark actions
before the Libyan Trademark Office.
Our firm can assist with arranging the necessary local
attestation and provide further guidance on the applicable
requirements and costs.
