Q1: What is the legislative and technology framework for governing personal information ("PI") in your jurisdiction? Does your jurisdiction have a dedicated data protection law?

A: Indonesia does have specific regulations governing PI, specifically on personal data protection in the electronic system under Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection ("PDP Law"), which applies to personal data processing activities in electronic systems. Additionally, sector-specific regulations issued by the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan or "OJK"), are applicable to certain sectors such as financial services.
