Hong Kong Appointment Extends Guernsey's Asia's Development

Guernsey Finance has appointed Christopher Chan as its first Hong Kong Representative.

Mr Chan, who takes up his post later this month, will lead Guernsey's promotional efforts in Hong Kong as well as be an on-the-ground presence for Guernsey Finance and its member firms. He will also assist with promotion in the wider South East Asia region.

The promotional agency for the island's finance industry opened its Hong Kong office at Three Pacific Place in Admiralty in March last year. It was initially used as a base from which Guernsey Finance's Shanghai-based China Representative, Wendy Weng, carried out further promotional activities in South East Asia, and also by the Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) to provide regulatory advice to those in the region who might be considering Guernsey-specific ventures.
