New Two-Week Filing Window for Visa Extension Applications Implemented

Effective immediately, the Immigration and Passport Authority (DIP) introduced a new submission window for visa extension applications at the end of September 2026. According to verbal instructions from the newly appointed Deputy Director (Visas), the department responsible for accepting visa applications generally accepts only those submitted within two weeks before the expiration of the applicant’s current visa. Until now, the DIP has not strictly enforced this submission window.

In urgent cases, applicants may try to submit their application earlier by providing a copy of their confirmed flight itinerary. However, it should be noted that acceptance of the application remains at the discretion of the DIP.
